Our story

Our journey at GamingChairs.eu began in the 80’s with a passion for IT (and gaming). A Tandy console for starters, followed by a Commodore 64, and the first Windows for Workgroups and a Novell network, with coax cabling to play the first Doom and Quake over the network with friends and collegues. After working a few years in IT-companies, Kurt started his own computershop. In the early 2000’s, he hosted the radio show “DrWeB” on TOPradio, a local radio in Belgium, where he shared his love for games, technology, and the gaming lifestyle with a dedicated audience. The success of the show naturally led him to take his involvement in the gaming world to the next level.

DRWeB lan parties

It was quite natural that he transitioned from broadcasting to organizing gaming events, launching the DrWeB LAN parties. These events quickly became a beloved gathering for gamers, providing a space where they could compete, collaborate, and connect in person. It’s in those years that some friends joined the crew. The DrWeB LAN parties ran successfully until 2007, fostering a vibrant community and leaving a lasting impact on participants.

CU-LAN

In 2013, the original crew made a return to the LAN party scene with the launch of CU-LAN, a series of events that continues to thrive today. CU-LAN is more than just a gaming event—it’s a gathering where friends from different countries come together, new connections are made, and the atmosphere is filled with fun and excitement. CU-LAN wants to be an event for fungaming, not focussing on esports at all. So whether you’re gaming behind your computer, socializing at the bar, or participating in our famous CU-LAN fun-competitions, the focus is always on creating memorable experiences and enjoying the camaraderie that comes with being part of the gaming community. The crew also participated in or visited other gaming events and lanparties in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and France.

Lan-party.eu

Recognizing the growing demand for a central hub for LAN parties and esports events across Europe, we launched www.lan-party.eu in 2015. This website quickly established itself as the go-to resource for gamers looking for information on upcoming events, making it a vital part of the gaming ecosystem in Europe. Our history is rooted in a genuine love for gaming, and this passion continues to drive us as we expand our services, including the launch of GamingChairs.eu, to support the gaming and professional communities.
